Early American Lighting Collection

Colonial Lighting Handmade in Pennsylvania

GreatWindsorChairs.com is excited to bring you this exceptional line of period-style outdoor and indoor lighting. It is a unique collection of reproduction lighting, recognized for its craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The lights in this collection are hand-crafted by Pennsylvania artisans with over 20 years of tinsmithing experience and are far superior to most outdoor lighting available in many retail stores.

Its superiority is evident in the construction details. Each outside corner joint features a four-point soldered corner construction, giving the light extra strength and solidity. All hinges are hand made and feature a solid, ten-point soldered construction. All seams feature point-to-point soldered joints, ensuring durability and long life of the product.

This collection is available in five finishes: raw brass, dark brass, and antiqued brass.

If you have any questions, please call 1-800-240-6433 or email anytime. All email and telephone messages will be promptly returned.

Folk Art Ceiling Light

Folk art is closely connected with the events of the nineteenth century when the disappearance of the old ways left rural folk everywhere with an unused surplus of time and energy. People were free to invent and make simple things for their own pleasure in each household and in each village, until the rise of industrial production toward the end of the nineteenth century.

Folk art is said to be the art works of a culturally homogeneous people produced by artists without formal training. The forms of such works are generally developed into a tradition that is either cut off from or tenuously connected to the contemporary cultural mainstream. Folk art is generally nationalistic in character and expresses the values and aspirations of a culturally united group. Much folk art possesses a rough-hewn quality frequently admired and imitated by sophisticated artists.

Our new folk art lighting celebrates the uniqueness and beauty of this very American art form. Our folk art lighting series deviates from the modern, mass production techniques and treats each piece with individual attention. Each piece is handmade in Lancaster County by a juried member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen, and while each light is crafted from a standard design, individual characteristics are evident in every light. No two pieces are the same.

This collection is available in five finishes: raw brass, dark brass, antiqued brass, copper and verdigris copper.
